Grant what you command, and command what you will!
- St. Augustine of Hippo, The Confessions
I have been reading The Confessions of St. Augustine for a bit now, and what a complete treasure. Just 10 or 15 minutes a day … this was from my reading today, Chapter 10 “A Philosophy of Memory”.
While the structure and rhythm of the book may be a bit unfamiliar to early-third millennia western eyes – this is the first known autobiography of any kind (at least in the West), written between 397 and 398 – the content is sooo worth it.

Love the quote.
